- The airbag is deployed mechanically via a zip cord that is attached to the saddle
- Unintentional deployment by forgetting to release the zip cord when dismounting from the saddle is virtually impossible, as a force of 30kg (300N) is required to activate the airbag.
When triggered, the airbag system has the optimum pressure after 80-100 milliseconds (depending on size) to provide full protection. The 14-24 litre (depending on size) protective volume offers protection for the throat, neck, spine, ribcage, pelvis, coccyx, head, collarbone and internal organs.

Comprehensive protection in 80-100 milliseconds
When triggered, the airbag system deploys within 80-100 milliseconds, depending on the size of the airbag. It achieves a protective volume of 14 to 24 litres, covering essential parts of the body such as the throat, neck, spine, ribcage, pelvis, coccyx, head, collarbone and internal organs. This provides comprehensive protection in an emergency and minimises the risk of serious injury.
First remove the activated CO2 cartridge.
Unscrew the cover cap with the enclosed Allen key until you can slide the piston into its original position.
Use the Allen key to push the piston back into its original position. The opening for the ball must point upwards.
Insert the pull cord with the metal ball into the flask. The ring around the metal ball should be flat so that it fits exactly into the opening. Hold the metal ball in place while you screw the cover cap back on.
The cover cap must be screwed on so tightly that it touches the cylinder. Test the fit of the pull cord by pulling it carefully. Please do not pull jerkily, but with feeling. You only want to check that the ball is seated correctly in the piston.
Finally, you can screw in a new cartridge. Your airbag waistcoat is now ready for use again.
Yes, thanks to the central zip the Zip'In 2 waistcoat can also be worn without an outer layer. For maximum protection against dirt we recommend wearing it under a compatible jacket.
No, the CO2 cartridge must be replaced with a new one after every deployment. You can do this yourself easily and quickly.
The waistcoat must not be machine-washed or immersed in water. Clean it with a soft cloth and soapy water. Do not dry it near heat sources.
You can protect the airbag waistcoat from dirt by wearing a suitable jacket over it.
You can use the airbag waistcoat again if it is undamaged. You can easily reactivate it with a new CO2 cartridge.
